A Program of Certification in Clinical Aromatherapy

For those students seeking advanced training leading to certification in clinical aromatherapy, the Institute of Spiritual Healing and Aromatherapy offers a unique holistic approach that integrates prayer and energy healing methods along with the science and art of the use of essential oils.

The program is approved to grant certification in clinical aromatherapy through both the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA), and the Alliance of international Aromatherapists (AIA). The curriculum is a 240 hour course that includes three courses, reading, homework questions, case studies, a research project and written exams.

Course 301- Sent to Heal and Anoint (a 20 hour class)

Just as early people used their hands and the plants of the earth to heal one another, we too can practice this ancient healing tradition today through aromatherapy and hands-on healing. This 2 1/2 day course course explores the healing traditions of essential oils from ancient cultures our Biblical experience, medieval healers and our modern day. The science of aromatic oils and their vibrational frequencies are explored. In this course, students integrate essential oils with heart-centered energetic healing techniques through various guided experiences. Groundwork is laid in this course for those continuing in the certification in aromatherapy program.

• Aromatic oils used by ancient cultures and medieval Christian healers including Hildegard of Bingen
• Healing properties and vibrational frequencies of essential oils relevant for our modern day
• Distillation process
• Limbic system and how essential oils affect body, mind and spirit
• 35 essential oils and their healing properties
• Prayer and hands-on techniques utilizing essential oils for healing

Linda Smith RN, MS, HNC, CHTP/I, CCA is the creator and director of the Institute of Spiritual Healing & Aromatherapy and teaches nationally and internationally in both the Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry program and in the Certification in Clinical Aromatherapy program. Her vision is to bring hands-on healing back into our Christian communities. She delights in seeing the "light" go on in people's eyes as they remember at some deep level that they are loved, that God means for them to be healed and that they in turn can help others move toward healing.

She has spent most of her life in church work as a nurse and teacher. Her health care background includes critical care nursing, nursing education, and home health and hospice care; her specialty is in compassionate care of the dying. She is certified in Holistic Nursing, Healing Touch and Clinical Aromatherapy. Presently she has a private practice in Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry and aromatherapy in the Denver Colorado area. In 1992, Linda was selected Holistic Nurse of the Year by the American Holistic Nurses Association for the outstanding example she presents in the healing arts. Over the past 15 years, she has taught nearly 500 workshops on healing. As a nurse-healer, teacher, mentor, and spiritual advisor, she has inspired many with her passion to restore healing to our Christian churches and ministries. Linda is the author of Called into Healing, Reclaiming our Judeo-Christian Legacy of Healing Touch 2nd Revised Ed., (2006), Healing Oils Healing Hands, Discovering the Power of Prayer, Hands On Healing and Anointing (2003), Essential Oils for Physical, Emotional and Spiritual Health, (2005).
